The summit is crowned by a train station, cafe, and several communications masts. There are no roads to the summit but you can drive up to “The Bungalow” from which it’s not even half an hour walk to the top. Or you hike from “sea to summit” in about 2 hours from Laxey:

No need to rent a car on this island – anywhere you need to go there is a bus at least every 30 mins. The Admiral House right on the promenade in Douglas comes recommended.
